sick in bed...

This past week was one we'll soon want to forget. Kim and I had the flu. I could end here but why waste all of our pain and anguish by letting it quickly depart from our memories?

The week started out with Kim attending a real estate seminar downtown in Atlanta. No big worries except she had to be there by 8am and for those that don't know Atlanta that means she had to be out of the house by 5:30a. So that left me taking Kori to seminary (6:10am), getting the boys ready for school (7:30a) and all the normal housekeeping chores (I am not too good at this). Monday was OK, I handled things but something happened Monday night... I started getting vertigo and feeling really nauseous! It couldn't be the flu as I had my flu shot, right? Wrong!

By late afternoon on Tuesday I was in pretty bad shape. No temp just really lethargic. I made it through the day and Kim was home on Wednesday. I was feeling a bit better and actually contemplated taking a motorcycle ride. It didn't happen as I was still feeling a bit of the vertigo and didn't trust my body. Jump to Saturday...

Saturday morning came and got up and was going to take Lucy (family dog, a yellow lab) for a walk. I got on some sweats and nelt down to tie my shoes and blacked out! Fell to the floor and Lucy looked at me like "what's up dude... get up I want to go". I had called Joe our neighbor and was to meet him at 9am. It didn't happen. At this point Kim was running a temp (low 100's) and feeling poorly. We called the kids down and quarantinned the bedroom. We had Jeremy and Kori sanitize the house with Clorox wipes. No kids were to enter the bedroom except on request. All I have to mention here is Thanksgiving at the cottage in 2005 and it was understood. (side note... someday I will post the experience; it wasn't a good turkey day!) OK. I have a rambling problem... I get to talking and can't seem to stop. I am on one of those tangents right now...

I had the blinds drawn back as the light was really bothering me. Kim and I spent the day in bed all day Saturday and most of Sunday. Kim did call the Dr Sunday morning and asked the Dr. to prescripe "tamaflu" (sp?). That has helped her, but we didn't catch mine soon enough to use the drug. I was feeling a bit better by Sunday evening, Kim is feeling better but still a bit run down. Kids are OK at this point, not going to say more as I will inevitably jinx myself.

No major happening this past week. This week: Kori is trying out for the school play. Jeremy has his 1st soccer practice on Friday. I am really looking forward to seeing Jeremy play. Jack had his 1st baseball practice yesterday. It was cold and too windy for me to be taking pictures. Mainly because I am a wimp and didn't want to walk around with the camera. Also wanted to keep an eye on Jack.

Hope everyone is doing well! More soon.... D
